Outdoors – that’s where people are meant to be! That’s because playing and learning outdoors is good, not only for those playing and learning but for the environment, too. Research shows that being outside has numerous beneficial effects – and for that reason everyone should spend more time outside!
Fun in the Wood Forest School runs forest school sessions for nurseries, schools, home educators and activity groups such as: Brownies, Girl Guides, Beavers, Scouts and Rainbows. We also run a Parent/Toddler group for children 18 months – 4 years, a holiday club during school holidays, Forest School Taster Days for early years educators and Woodland Birthday Parties.
Forest School sessions encourage child led play & learning in a woodland environment. This natural learning environment fuels children’s natural interests and imagination as they use their five senses to make connections with nature and the wider world and aims to foster a lifelong love of nature.
Learning comes to life through hands on experiences and by engaging in motivating and achievable activities in a natural environment each person has an opportunity to develop their confidence, self-esteem, social and emotional skills and improves their ability to use their own initiative to make choices, take risks, solve problems and work both independently and with others.
